The annual R.E. Lee service commemorating Gen. Lee’s birthday will be held at 1:30 PM on January 19, 2025 at the Chapel. Col. Greg Eanes, a former Mayor of Crew Virginia and author of civil way and Virginia History will be the speaker.

Perfect for Civil War buffs who wish to deepen their appreciation of post-war Virginia, the Confederate War Memorial Chapel (Pelham Chapel) was built by the Confederate Veterans of R.E. Lee Camp #1 Soldiers’ Home that occupied these grounds. It was dedicated May 8, 1887, in memory of the 260,000 Confederate dead who gave their lives during the War Between the States. Over 1700 Confederate Veterans were honored at the Chapel with funeral services before joining their brothers-in-arms at Hollywood Cemetery here in Richmond, Virginia.
